Your Casa Lobo Summer Bucketlist

How to spend your summer reconnecting to nature and yourself

No matter your age group, seizing the most of your Summer can be a challenge. After waiting all year for blue skies, sunshine, and barbecues, it can be hard fulfilling the utopia we yearned for.

Whether it be the stress of school, work, or our personal lives, life can get in the way of optimizing our summer. This season, our bucket list helps to set an intention for the summer: reconnect with nature. After the everyday stressors, hopefully checking a few of these off will bring a momentary respite.

  1. Take a nature walk. The Catskills is home to some of our favorites: Kaaterskill Falls, North-South Lake, Hunter Mountain Fire Tower, and Windham High Peak.
  2. Enjoy the water. Kayak or swim in some of the prettiest lakes around, from the aforementioned North-South Lake or Colgate Lake.
  3. Taste something new. Try a new coffee shop like Fred’s Donuts or a wine tasting at Clermont Vineyards & Winery
  4. Make Smores (our firepit is perfect).
  5. Stroll a farmers market. The Catskill farmers market every Sunday is perfect to discover new treats and local businesses.
  6. Pack a picnic. Maybe after a nature walk to enjoy a mountain view.
  7. Stargaze. The lack of light pollution upstate makes it perfect to turn off all distractions and enjoy the night sky.
  8. Have a barbecue. Gather all the fixins and grill them up on our patio. Enjoy the mountain air while eating at our outdoor table.
  9. Host a game night. Complete with pool, darts, puzzles, ring toss, and boardgames (all found in-house).
  10. Explore the Catskills by rail with Rail Explorers.

With this list, we hope the summer is filled with connecting with yourself, nature and the people that matter most. Experiences are crucial to enjoying the beauty that summer brings.

No matter what your summer holds, we hope you consider including Casa Lobo as part of it.
